Kerry Finally Signs Form SF-180

According to my records it took him 114 days to do it, but John Kerry has finally signed the form to release his military records. It will take time to process the form, and knowing the military, that could be a while. But now this whole issue is going to be settled, once and for all. Perhaps the Swiftvets' claims will be validated.

Deal with the Devil?

Here's an editorial in Newsmax from Wes Vernon that pretty much sums up all of my worries over the last minute deal over judicial filibusters. Can a leapord really change it's spots? Have the Democrats stuck to their promises in the past? Remember when Bush tried to make a deal with Ted Kennedy and the Democrats to cut down on their criticism by increasing education spending? Did the Democrats stick to that deal? No! So I'm a little skeptical. And considering all the gloating from the Democrats over their victory over Bill Frist and the evil right wing, I'm not that optimistic. Apparently, the Democrats still reserve the right to filibuster any nomination in "extraordinary circumstances," which according to them, means the President should consult them about any new nominations. In other words, he can only nominate who they say he can nominate. Doesn't sound too appealing, but the whole thing does make them look worse, and the Republicans can still try to change the filibuster rules if necessary. But that idea still makes me queasy. What if the Democrats take back the majority? That will be one less weapon in our arsenal!

Lawsuit says school violated free-speech rights

Here's another case of Reuters sticking a serious American political issue in their "Oddly Enough" section. Those krauts at Reuters have no respect for their audience. A Pennsyvania school district violated the free speech rights of a parent who wanted to read from the bible in front of her child's class. She was visiting the class for "Me Week", which gives parents the opportunity to read in class from one of her child's favorite books. She wanted to read Psalm no. 118, but the principle of the school stopped her. He said it was a violation of separation of church and state. Now we at the Cult of 7G are familiar with the Constitution, and nowhere can the phrase "separation of church and state" be found in that document. It does say, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." Ironically, the left uses an amendment intended to protect free speech in order to infringe upon it. These people suggest that just referencing a particular religion, or exposing students to it is an endorsement. Then why is it okay for schools to promote Islam? Either way, it's apples and oranges. This lady was reading from a book in school. This wasn't the school endorsing anything. They gave her a platform to read a book, and she chose the Bible. I could understand them stopping her if her child's favorite book was a Larry Flynt publication, but how is reading her kid's favorite psalm hurting anybody? If it had been the Koran, they probably wouldn't have batted an eyelash.

No Nukes

Here's an excellent post from Pejmanesque. There's a lot of conservative complaining in the blogosphere about the recent deal struck by McCain on Bush's nominations. They seem to favor a war of attrition with the democrats. They see this compromise as a cave-in. I must admit, I would have liked to see the republicans flex their muscles a bit more, but maybe this deal benefits republicans more than they think.

Cuba Libre!

Good news from the Associated Press!

HAVANA - With shouts of "Freedom" and the singing of the Cuban national anthem, more than 200 people on Friday opened a rare opposition assembly in communist Cuba, uninterrupted by authorities despite the expulsion of European lawmakers, journalists and others who planned to attend.

This is the first time anything like this has happened in the entire 46 years that Fidel has been in power. Viva la Revolucion Capitalista! Posted by Hello

Rift over recruiting at public high schools

So a PTA at a highschool in Seattle doesn't want military recruiters there. Big surprise. If Communist China invaded the west coast, Seattle would be throwing them a ticker-tape parade to celebrate their liberation. I did, however find something worth commenting on in this news article.
At the last PTA meeting, one of the parents who was an attorney brought up the point that if they banned military recruiters, other PTA's could ban Planned Parenthood because of their views on abortion.

Steve Ludwig, whose son is a senior and whose daughter will enter as a freshman next fall, made a point shared by many in attendance: Garfield does not allow organizations that promote illegal activities to recruit students to perform those activities, nor does it allow organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, gender, national origin, or sexual orientation to recruit on campus.

"Planned Parenthood, as far as I know, does not advocate or perform illegal acts. The US military does," Mr. Ludwig continued. The soft-spoken carpenter said he would not object if Army representatives came to Garfield to debate their ideas on torture or aggressive war. "What I object to is their coming here to recruit students to perform those acts," he said. "It's not about free speech."

This is obviously a bullshit argument. It's just these leftist nutjobs' opinion that the war is illegal. If these retards had their way, it would be illegal to have a military. But let's humor their argument. Planned Parenthood doesn't promote illegal activity? Well what about when Life Dynamics, Inc. discovered that Planned Parenthood was covering up cases of child molestation? Doesn't that count as promoting illegal activity? But bringing that up was pointless, since only a liberal moon-bat would consider military recruitment a promotion of illegal activity.

Detainee Flushed Koran

Now this one is pretty funny. The only incident of any koran desecration was a detainee flushing pages from his koran to try and clog the toilet as a form of protest. "Take that American swine! I'll plug up your crapper with my holy book, causing the toilet to over-flow! Allah akbar!"

Oh, I just knew it!

Recently, Newsweek printed a story alleging that US forces at Guantanamo Bay had desecrated the Koran by putting copies in the toilet and trying to flush them. This sparked massive protests throughout the muslim world. In Afghanistan, 16 people have died and over 100 have been injured in the protests. But now, Newsweek has retracted their story. Apparently, the military investigators they cited as their anonymous source hadn't actually confirmed that this incident happened, as they reported. The military has had to investigate several other reports of Koran desecrations that turned out to be bogus. Now I think this is the perfect example of how bad reporting can negatively affect people's lives. These reporters, obviously partisan hacks with an axe to grind, saw yet another potential weapon against the war and the Bush administration. They published this un-confirmed piece of bullshit without any concern for the damage it would do, and now people are dead. It's too late for Newsweek to salvage its credibility, but other periodicals should learn from this. What ticks me off the most, other than the fact that people are dead because of a magazine, is the fact that liberal jack-offs are going to continue to bring this up in arguments from now on. They don't care if it's true or not! It's negative press about the US military. It has to be true!

Border Patrol told to stand down in Arizona

Special thanks to The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler for this post.
Some border patrol agents stationed in Naco, AZ have come out saying they were ordered not to arrest illegal immigrants in the area patrolled by the Minuteman volunteers last month because it might prove their effectiveness in apprehending illegal immigrants. Did you get that? They're intentionally holding down arrests so people won't think the Minutemen had an effect! What is wrong with these idiots? All the Minutemen were doing down there was trying to get politicians to devote more funding and manpower for the border patrol!

Sen. Reid: Bush 'a Loser'

Uh, what planet is Harry Reid on? We're talking about a two-term president. A man who took all the character assassination the media could throw at him, and still won re-election. And he's a loser. You want to see losers, Senator Reid? Why not try looking at your own side of the aisle, which has been dwindling in size as of late. You are the senate minority leader, after all.

More Yapping from Babs

This just in from Newsmax. Apparently Barbara Streisand has a website, and people actually read it. She seems to think Bush has a lot in common with Herman Goering. Kudos to you Babs. It shows some knowledge of history. Most idiot liberal shills compare him to Hitler. Most probably wouldn't even know who Hermann Goering was. He was the Reichsmarchel of the Luftwaffe, and in charge of the "final solution." Bush was an air national guard pilot, so I can see a common thread there. But that's about it.
Babs according to Newsmax:

"Bush's actions remind me of Herman Goering's quote during the Nuremberg Trials, where he stated: '...it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.'"

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders," said Goering, according to the disgruntled songstress. "All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism. ..."

Well, Babs, I've got to hand it to you. Your penchant for non-sequiturs is impressive. But you fail to see one important point: We were attacked by radical islamists. The nazis were lying about the jews and the perceived jewish threat. Many of the jews that ended up in the concentration camps had served in the German military during the first world war. Many of them chose not to flee the country because of strong nationalist sentiment for their homeland. There is a difference. On the one hand, you've got a president going to war to protect his people from a very real threat. On the other hand, you've got a war criminal who is responsible for millions of deaths in concentration camps. Certainly she sees the difference. This is nothing more than a partisan, ad-hominem attack. You expect that sort of thing from her. It's dis-heartening, however, for such a prominent jewish figure to marginalize the holocaust in this way.

Kofi Isn't Off the Hook Yet!

Good news from Newsmax!
According to Fox News reporter Jonathon Hunt, the congressional probe of the Oil-For-Food scandal has come into possession of some evidence that may prove embarrassing for Kofi Annan.

"One source close to the case told me that in those boxes is the ammunition to prove that Kofi Annan lied to investigators," Hunt told Fox News Radio host Tony Snow. "So this is a very dramatic development indeed."

Apparently, the documents were in the possession of UN investigator Robert Parton, who resigned two weeks ago. Congress has been trying to reach Parton and another investigator who resigned, Miranda Duncan. Paul Volcker, who runs the Oil-For-Food program, tried to block their testimony because of their diplomatic immunity. But Sen. Norm Coleman, chair of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations said he plans to subpoena them anyway, over Volcker's objections.
