Bush was Right to Reject Kyoto Treaty

Ha! According to Forbes Magazine, Bush shouldn't feel so bad about all the criticism for not signing the Kyoto Treaty. I found this story on newsmax. Apparently, the Kyoto treaty seemed like a good idea at the time, but now that the time has come to cut emissions, the awful truth is sinking in.... In order to cut emissions, you must cut growth!

Even Britain’s Tony Blair, a supporter of the protocol, seemed to admit defeat for the treaty when in a recent speech at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York, he conceded: "No country is going to cut growth” – which is the only known way to cut emissions, according to Forbes.

Oh, but that's not even the best part! It seems that while the European nations were too busy complaining about us not signing the treaty, they were'nt paying attention to their own emissions.

Ironically, even western Europe is not reducing emissions. According to the protocol, western European nations must reduce their emissions to levels 8 percent lower than those of 1990. But in the years since the treaty was negotiated, carbon dioxide levels increased by 7 percent in France, 11 percent in Italy and 29 percent in Spain. Overall, the increase for western Europe was 5.4 percent.

"After many years of European chatter about the monstrous evil perpetrated by George W. Bush in rejecting Kyoto,” Forbes concludes, "it is of possible interest that the increase in carbon emissions in the U.S. during those years was slightly lower (4.7 percent).”

Oh, no!!!!

Saddam Hussein is claiming mistreatment at the hands of coalition forces. Perhaps they gave him Cooler Ranch instead of Nacho Cheesier.

"Yes, I have been beaten, everywhere on my body. The marks are still there," Saddam told the court after sitting quietly listening to testimony. "And I'm not complaining about the Americans because I can poke their eyes with my own
hands."

I don't follow you on that last part, Saddam. Maybe it's bad translation. But here's one word of advice I'll give ya. Don't be trying that eye pokey thing on your guards. It will only lead to more beatings.

Iraqi Voter: Anybody Who Doesn’t Appreciate America Can Go To Hell

They're reporting a heavy turnout in the Iraqi elections. The high turnout has officials hopeful that we might begin pulling out of Iraq next year. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Somebody at the DNC needs to get the word out to the Iraqi people. "This is supposed to be a quagmire! How do you expect us to take back Congress!"

Also, I found this nifty little nugget of news over at The Political Teen.

“Anybody who doesn’t appreciate what America has done and President Bush, let them go to hell”

41 Senators Tell Bush: Be Frank on Iraq

Do I still get to be Chauncy? Check out this story from the Kansas City Star. I originally found it on Yahoo but Yahoo can eat shit. Funny how the headline doesn't mention any party affiliation. It all becomes clear in the first paragraph:

WASHINGTON - President Bush is hearing from the Senate on Iraq. Forty Democrats and one independent have signed a letter urging him to be more frank with Iraqis and the American public.

So it's safe to assume this is just politically motivated. Now the democrats are pretending to represent the very same people who will be doomed to annihilation if the dems get what they want: an early withdrawal.

The letter says the administration needs to present "a plan that identifies the remaining political, economic, and military benchmarks that must be met and a reasonable schedule to achieve them."

How many times do we have to say it before you fucking retards get it? We'll be done when the Iraqis can sufficiently take care of themselves! In light of the daily reports of violence and death, it seems that pulling out now would be a bit premature, don't ya think? And this shit about a reasonable schedule! It's fucking ridiculous. It will be done when it's done! If we don't meet some deadline, are you going to want to just give up? We're sorry Iraq. This is taking too long, so we're gonna hand you over to the Ba'athists and the terrorists. This reminds me of a child nagging his parents. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" No we're not there yet, and if you don't stop nagging me, so help me, I'll stop this car and give you something to whine about!!

It's been a while since I've gotten one of these....

This is funny as hell, considering that Chauncy Biggins is a pseudonym. It would be pretty hard for a made up identity to claim an inheritance. And oh yeah, I'm pretty sure this is some kind of scam. If I contacted him, he'd be telling me how he needs $10,000 up front to cover filing fees and to bribe officials. I'd be like, if you have access to millions of dollars, why do you need my money? I'm sure that would end the conversation. Also, I don't have any money to send them. Why do you think I'm using blogger? Here's my question. Do you think anybody ever actually falls for this shit?

Demystifying the Cult of 7G

I suppose you're wondering what the hell all this cult of 7G stuff means. I have thus far made no attempt at explaining it. I assure you, we are no cult in the strictest sense of the word. It all goes back to 1997, when yours truly was a lowly Burger King employee. I worked at the same store as my older brother and several of his friends. In the back of the store, next to where we stacked up the fry baskets, was a little nook that we employees would sneak into to hide from our supervisors and eat our ill-gotten hershey's chocolate pies (working around all that food while hungry was torture most foul!). In that little fortress of solitude, was an apparent alter to some strange deity named 7G. Someone had taken a 7 and a G from our sign and taped them to the wall. Had this place not been closed down a few years ago, I imagine the alter would still be standing. Know this, mortals! G is the 7th letter of the alphabet! and 7 is a mystical number of much power and significance! Attempt to deny the boundless power of the mighty 7G and embrace your destruction! Mwa ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Surprise! Liberal Canucks Want to Ban Guns

Gun violence in Canada is spiralling out of control!

So far this year some 50 young men -- most of them black -- have been shot dead in Toronto

50 men? Dear God! That must be almost half the population of Toronto!

"I've come to the conclusion that significant change is needed. I've come to the conclusion that we should ban handguns," said Paul Martin at a rally.

But I thought you solved the gun violence problem with the national gun registry. Oh wait. That was just so you'd know who had firearms so you could ban them, right? Too bad hardly anybody bothered to register! So the solution must be to pass some more laws that nobody's going to obey, right?

Some government officials blame the problem in part on smuggling of handguns from neighboring United States.

So by their own admission, banning guns won't solve the problem? Funny how banning something with laws never seems to make the problem go away, does it? My only question is this: have the proponents of gun bans ever considered studying the cases of other countries that have tried the same thing? You know, just to measure whether your proposed legislation will have the desired effect?

I feel Ashamed

I will admit, I have not been living up to my usual standards as of late. I've hardly been posting at all lately. Is it true that married life truly destroys a man's ability to form opinions? What has happened to me? I promise, that as soon as the news starts getting a little more interesting, I'll throw myself back into it with renewed vigor. You have my word on it!

UN Chief Warns Syria over Lebanon

Ha ha ha ha! It's very rare that I smile while reading about the UN. Apparently, Kofi Annan has some strong words for Syria. If they don't withdraw their troops from Lebanon by April, then the Security Council MIGHT take actions against them. Pardon me a moment while I laugh myself into a hernia. Here are the words straight from the jackass's mouth. Now let's see. What color would best exemplify Kofi Annan? How about yellow? That's a good color for a simpering coward!

"If it's partial withdrawal, I will have to report. If it's total withdrawal, I will have to report," Mr Annan is quoted as saying in the interview to be broadcast on Friday.

"But of course, if they [Syria] do not perform, the council may wish to take additional measures," he adds.

Ugh, it's as painful to the eyes as Kofi's words are to the ears! I'm sure the Syrians are quaking in their boots over your threat of the possibility of further action. "Oh shit, if we don't comply, they might pass a resolution to condemn us and threaten another resolution!"

Biggins still Adjusting.....

I'm sorry I haven't really been posting lately. I feel as though I have been remiss. I think my interest in matters political waxes and wanes from time to time. Lately there just hasn't been much in the news to really grab my attention. We're still at war. Bush is trying to get a new supreme court justice confirmed. Hopefully, he'll succeed, in spite of the Democrats' bullshit. I guess the Republicans cut a bunch of spending from medicaid. More importantly, the Colts just stomped the piss out of the Patriots on their own turf! Now there's a cause for celebration! I must admit, I was a little shocked by Doug Flutie's fourth quarter antics. He intentionally ran into one of the Colts' players, I can't remember whom, and tried to play it up like the guy attacked him. This didn't make it into the news anywhere, probably out of embarrassment for Doug Flutie. I guess he was desperate to turn things around in any way he could. Pathetic. Even more pathetic, was when Belichick threw his red flag, apparently in frustration, and then had to play it off like he was contesting the Colts' last touch down rather than face a penalty for delaying the game. Pretty sad. It was a beautiful game. The Colts' defence really dominated the Pats through most of the game, and really set the pace. I'm not saying the Pats played poorly. They're one of the best teams in the NFL and had some impressive fourth down conversions. They were just outplayed by the best team in the NFL. I've never seen Tom Brady get shaken up like he did on Monday. At least not while playing the Colts in Massachusetts.

8 and 0, bitches!!! GO HORSE!!!!

Chauncy Biggins Witnesses Felony

What a day! I was on my way to handle a bill with a collection agency (ironic, since I work in collections: I'll deal with them in good time-they'll wish they'd never heard of me) when I witnessed a serious crime. I was riding in the car with my dear old mum. (I know what you're all thinking. I have a car, I'm married, and I've got my own place damn it! I just happened to be with my mother today!) We came to a stop at the intersection of Main and High Street in Downtown Muncie, right next to the bus station. There was a man crossing on the crosswalk, exchanging words with a guy in a red, older model suv. The man on foot reached the curb, turned around and said something, pointing off to the south as if to give directions. I didn't hear him, but according to the other witnesses, the man said, "Why don't you get out of the car and say that?" Then the man in the car, sharply turned his wheels to the left and hit the accelerator, going over the curb and hitting the man with his left front fender. I heard the man's leg snap, and he rolled over the hood of the car, falling to the ground. The driver sped away. All the motorists at the intersection, including myself, jumped out of the car and ran to try to get the license plate number. One of the guys made out half of it. The victim, while failing to get up, said it didn't matter. He knew the guy. The police were there inside a minute, followed soon after by the ambulance. They took statements from all of us, and we each wrote a formal statement to include in the police report. The interesting thing is, none of the other witnesses could agree on what kind of car it was that hit him. My mother saw a white pickup truck. Another guy saw a red suburban. Another man said it was a silver GMC Jimmy. It's a good thing that guy knew who hit him, otherwise, they would never be able to catch him. I guess it shows how unreliable memory can be, especially in such extreme circumstances. I certainly hope the man is okay. And I hope the perp gets his ass nailed to the wall. I mean jesus, the guy did it in broad daylight, in front of dozens of people! If I find out any more about it, I'll give an update.

Chauncy Biggins Ties the Knot

Sorry ladies. Just got back from Maui on Tuesday. Quite fun. Got married on the beach to a lovely lady, who often goes by the moniker of Penelope Snood. I suppose that makes her Penelope Biggins. I don't think I'll be doing any real blogging for a few days. I'm still feeling the jet-lag. I still feel like it's five hours earlier than it is.

Oregon doctor sued for sex treatment for back pain

Now that's a crappily written sentence for a headline. Not mine. I took that straight off of Reuters. This story is pretty funny. The headline says it all. The part that gets me is the fact that the woman actually believed this guy. He was actually charging her for his "sex treatments." No word in the story about whether it actually worked or not. Perhaps he's the next Ignaz Semmelweis. Nah, I'm sure he's just a sick fuck.

Watchblog out of Money

Amusing. I figured out what happened to Watchblog. They simply ran out of money. I did a search on them and found this dropcash page where they were begging for donations to keep their site up. Now I'll admit, my blog is hosted by Blogger, which is to the world of internet publishing what velveeta is to the world of cheese. But I still can't help but indulge in a little schadenfreude over the fact that they have so far, collected zilch. I guess nobody cares about your little "public service website." I guess if you want to go there and mess with them, you have to donate some money so they can get their site running again. Ha!

American Jurors Too Stupid to Convict Criminals!

It seems jurors these days are watching too much television. The "CSI Effect" is making it hard for prosecutors to convince juries, even in white-collar trials, without sophisticated forensic evidence, like they've seen on the popular television drama. Now this is pretty absurd. It's not like an accountant embezzling money is going to leave a body, or blood and semen samples for investigators to run through their various electronic doo-hickeys! Apparently the "CSI Effect" hurt a securites fraud case in Alabama against HealthSouth founder Richard Scrushy.

Alice Martin, the State Prosecutor for the Northern District of Alabama said,
"...Jurors in post-verdict interviews said "we needed a fingerprint on one of the documents or we needed him [Mr Scrushy] to say the word 'fraud' on the audiotape" that was secretly recorded by a former HealthSouth finance chief.

"They said, 'they always do fingerprints on TV'," Ms Martin said.

Now the one thing about the post verdict interview that I really take issue with, is the idea that he had to say the word 'fraud' on tape. Come on, people! How often will a person committing fraud actually say the word fraud while he's committing the crime? I can see it now.

Deep within the bowels of the secret headquarters of HealthSouth, Richard Scrushy and his cabal of co-conspirators plan their next caper...

Richard Scrushy: "Welcome to the fraud meeting, my fellow frauds."

Goon #1: "Yeah, boss! I can't wait to commit some fraud!"

Goon #2: "FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD! YEAH!!!"

New Dispatch from Michael Yon

If you haven't heard of him, or read his work, I would highly recommend that you check him out. I've had a link to his site up for a while, and I've been an avid reader for several months. Michael Yon is a private journalist, operating out of his own pocket, who has been travelling with the 1st Battallion, 24th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Brigade 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), or Deuce Four, if you're into the whole brevity thing. And I must say, it's some of the finest journalism I've seen coming out of this whole war. It's not political. Being a former Ranger himself, it's obvious that Michael is loyal to the men of Deuce Four, but he really does give an unflinching, real view of the way things are going in Mosul. In one incident, he actually picked up a rifle and tried to save an injured soldier! Lt. Colonel Erik Kurilla (a fucking hero, and a man's man if ever there was one) was shot several times right in front of him. The two Rangers in front of him froze, as if Superman had been gunned down right in front of them. So he picked up a rifle, and started shooting. He hit a propane tank and nearly killed everybody. He was, of course, reprimanded. They told him if he ever did that again, he'd be going home. But it just shows how deeply "embedded" Michael Yon is. Truly a must read for anyone interested in getting the real story.

Where's Watchblog?

I will admit, the managing Editor of Watchblog had me a little nervous. I'm relatively new to this whole blogging thing, and this took me off guard. And the day that I found out, I had been having a pretty bad day. Some bullshit collection agency called Ashwood Financial was calling up my mother and threatening to sue me (which is a violation of my privacy and federal statutes) over some bullshit from five years ago. Don't worry. I'll deal with them. I work in the industry and I know the law. They don't know who they're fucking with. But nonetheless, it was disquieting. On top of that, I'm getting married next month in Hawaii. I booked the whole package through Expedia, and about a month ago, I found out that ATA had cancelled the flight. I called Expedia. They called ATA, and ATA assured them that they would re-accommodate us, and that they would call back in two weeks. Once the two weeks were up, I called them back. They assured me that they were working on it, and they would call back in another two weeks. Two more weeks went by. I called them back, and they told me that it wasn't their problem, and I had to take it up with Expedia. I went ballistic. So I called Expedia, and explained the situation. The woman assured me that we would solve the issue, while I was on the phone. She said she needed to put me on hold while she called Northwest. So I sat on hold for 30 minutes. Periodically, she would come back to thank me for holding. Finally, I asked if I could put her on hold, as I had been on the phone for 2 hours and had to go to the bathroom. When I came back, the line was dead. I called back, got a different receptionist, and she said that according to her notes, they were issuing a full refund. I explained that we are getting married on the 10th, and I don't want a damn refund! I want to get down there! She explained that there was no legal way that they could get me another flight. Did you get that? This is a fucking travel agency! I told her fine! Just refund the tickets, and I'll swim if I have to! While I was on hold this time, I decided to check my email. That's when I got the email from the managing editor of watchblog. So it was just the icing on the cake. I was so emotionally exhausted, I nearly broke down and wept, right there at my desk. As for Expedia, I called back later in the evening and got it all straightened out. It turned out that the first two customer service representatives simply didn't want to help me. I guess they were too busy doing their nails, or something else much more important than their job. They've refunded the full ticket price, plus an extra $140, since it's going to be more expensive to book a flight so close to the date. It was an ordeal, but since they straightened it out in the end, I have to give them high marks. And as for watchblog, after some time to think it over, and some much appreciated support from Misha and the rest of the LC's and IB's at the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler, I realize that the managing editor of Watchblog is nothing more than a self-righteous douche-bag with delusions of grandeur. I tried to go back to watchblog to let them know I'm not afraid of them, but it seems that their site is down. Where'd they go? Perhaps the feds got sick and tired of being bothered by these half-wits and shut them down. Or maybe the managing editor is so sensitive to criticism, that he took his own life. Perhaps he committed hari kiri, and threw himself off the roof of the hippie commune where he resides. I'm still here, jackass. Where are you?

To Watchblog: FUCK YOU AND THE HORSE YOU FUCKED ON YOUR WAY IN!

Image hosted by TinyPic.com

Chauncy Biggins in Dutch with the Fed?

Here's an update on the situation with me and Watchblog. I sent their editor two emails. The first, I no longer have a transcript. Basically, I told the editor to go fuck himself, and that I was going to use my blog to tear him down. Idle threats, really when you consider I have like maybe 3 readers. But I digress. I was angry. I felt that I was unjustly banned. I sent a second email, which I have the transcript for, and they replied, then I replied. Here they are in order of last to first:

What have I done that's against the law besides threatening to make angry posts against you on our blog and insult you? I know your kind as well. Juvenile, eh. I have seen multiple cases where you have selectively enforced your policy. It seems to me that your goal is to create an echo chamber where only one set of views gets put forward. I'm not sure what you got from my email that constitutes as illegal, unless telling you to go fuck yourself is illegal. I had no idea! And to suggest it's illegal to criticize you on my weblog, and insult your weblog, and to encourage others to do the same is pathetic! I'm going to post your reply on my weblog. That is the "flaming" I had in mind. At no time did I threaten some type of denial of service attack, or anything like that. That's not my style, and frankly I wouldn't know where to begin. It seems to me that if you have to run to the feds every time you get criticized, then perhaps you really are hiding something. Hmmmm? And various aliases? All I ever did was log onto a different computer and post comments. I never tried to claim I was someone else. I admitted who I was, gave my full name, and my email address. I've logged on under two ip's. I'd be interested in knowing how it is illegal to post on a public forum. I'd be interested in knowing how it is illegal to threaten a "flame war," which constitutes a series of angry and derrogatory posts between two weblogs. When I said tear you down, I meant destroy your credibility. Not your website. I'm no hacker. I'm no cracker. I'm just a guy who knows a little bit of html. Go ahead and contact the feds. I haven't done anything illegal! And if I have, I'd like you to forward me the section in the criminal code that shows such. I'm quite interested!

And yes, the Feds do takethis kind of threat very seriously, they have proved it to us before, just a few months ago, in fact. Enjoy yourself while you can, as youremail and header info is forwarded along with everything else you haveposted since banned under your vairous aliases ...

Mad Matt wrote:
Looking back on the thread where you banned me, I'm more and more convinced that you selectively enforce your policy to prevent conservatives from commenting. Have you noticed that there aren't any conservatives commenting? It's because you ban them all! I understand what you're doing. You're not trying to put forward a conservative point of view. You're trying to discredit it! I'm a relatively small-time blogger, but I have friends that aren't. (another empty threat: who the hell do I know?) Prepare to be flamed, my friend.

Now readers. What do you think? I know you haven't seen the first email. But I assure you, at no time did I threaten bodily harm. At no point did I threaten to hack his site or anything like that. Have I done something illegal? Should I be thrown into the clink? Is criticism against the law? I certainly hope not, because I may get into trouble over this. Anyone with advice on this issue: I'd really appreciate your candor.

Watchblog can suck my Wang!

Chauncy Biggins, the beloved editor of the Cult of 7G has been banned from posting comments on WatchBlog, a site that has a section devoted to Republicans and Conservatives. Oddly enough, the comment section is invariably an echo chamber for liberals. I always wondered why. But now I realize, that conservatives get banned from commenting there. They look for the slightest infraction to do this, ensuring that all you get is liberal viewpoints. Here's the thread where they banned me:
Shitty Ass Stupid Faggot Blog See, now that's name-calling. They accused me of attacking the messenger and not the message. I accuse them of selective enforcement. You decide for yourselves.
In closing, I'll say this to the managing editor of Watchblog. Fuck you, you pencil-dicked weasle piece of shit, and the horse you fucked on your way in!

Media Vultures

I've been periodically checking the news on television for the past few days. What do I see on every network? The same footage of the same malcontents getting interviewed by the same reporters. Over and over again. A man standing there, holding a baby saying, "No food, no water, no help!" People chanting, "Send help, send help, send help!" I'm left with a few questions and a few conclusions. First of all, the media are a bunch of opportunistic vultures. It's obvious what they're trying to do. They don't give a damn about these people. They just see an opportunity to use this against the president, by suggesting the fed "dropped the ball." Well, what the hell did the state of Louisiana do about it? Should the federal government be expected to do everything? They know they live in a bowl surrounded by water. Why didn't they start working on this problem years ago? Now is not the time for the blame game. Now is the time for action. Which is why other states are now mobilizing their national guard units to assist. Here in Muncie, our National Guard unit is preparing to go down and assist. I know that there are several other units from all over the country heading down. Our local Red Cross has already reported two Louisiana families that have checked in for assistance. All the way up here in Muncie, Indiana! I know it must be the same in other parts of the country! And that's not the only help we're sending. We've got twelve Delaware County sheriff's deputies on their way already, along with volunteers from our local red cross and Indiana Michigan power employees to assist with getting the power back on.
The people who are still there, mostly because the state officials didn't evacuate them all as they should have, should be patient, and do what they can for now until help gets to them! In this modern fast food culture, everybody wants it now, now, NOW!! Well, I sympathize with those people, and I understand what they're going through is horrendous. I'd be screaming bloody murder if I had to go through that as well. I'd be pretty salty. But my perspective would be biased by my emotional involvement. The drowning man thinks the rescue came late, no matter how soon it was. My point is, we're doing what we can. And I understand that people are upset. But the media is using this as political ammunition. They're doing everything they can to say this is Bush's fault. And I wonder, since I've been seeing the same footage, of the same complaining people, for the last two days, if those same people they keep showing have already been evacuated. Or perhaps they were some of the same folks that were looting, and are now angry that they don't have anywhere to stash their new microwaves and televisions. Perhaps I'm being too cynical. But one thing is certain. Those damned news reporters aren't helping anything. All they're doing is trying to profit off of people's misery! All these reporters they've sent down. What are they really doing to help? They've got helicopters. They've got satellites. They could be doing something besides sticking cameras in people's faces! Why don't they start moving people out with their helicopters and news vans? Why don't they help bring food and water? Would that violate their journalistic ethics and neutrality?

Now is an excellent time to donate to the Salvation Army. They have less overhead, and less bureaucratic bullshit, so more of your money will go to actually helping people.

No WMD? You just don't understand WMD!!!!

The press, and the left love to say that there was no WMD in Iraq. The following is a tally of all of our findings since we invaded, that have been ingnored by our press. And thanks to our mostly inept president, they are almost completely unbeknownst to most people. Here's a list I lifted from a newsmax story. And for all you libs who would impugn Newsmax's credibility, I have listed alternate sources for each key piece of evidence at the bottom. So there!

Among the WMD evidence discounted by the press [and almost never noted by the Bush administration]:

500 tons of yellow cake uranium stored at Saddam's al Tuwaitha nuclear weapons development facility, which was secured by U.S. troops after the invasion.

1.8 tons of partially enriched uranium discovered at al Tuwaitha, which was removed by the U.S. Energy Department in June 2004 amidst warnings it could be used to produce a dirty bomb.

Centrifuge parts and blueprints hidden by one of Saddam's top nuclear scientists, who told U.S. interrogators that he was ordered to keep the bombmaking tools ready to resume production at a moment's notice.

Satellite photos from 2002 that showed new construction at al Tuwaitha, which had been largely destroyed in U.S. bombing raids during the first Gulf War and Operation Desert Fox.

The discovery of nearly two dozen artillery shells loaded with Sarin and mustard gas, which was reported in June 2004 by Iraq Survey Group chief Charles Duelfer.

Before we move on, I'd like to call to your attention to the Duelfer Report. For all you liberal moonbats, here's the Wikipedia description:

The Iraq Survey Group (ISG) was a fact-finding mission sent by the coalition after the 2003 Invasion of Iraq to find weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs developed by Iraq under the regime of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. It consisted of a 1,400-member team organized by The Pentagon and CIA to hunt for Saddam's suspected stockpiles of WMD, such as chemical and biological agents, and any supporting research programs and infrastructure that could be used to develop WMD. The search uncovered numerous banned weapons-related programs, but failed to find stockpiles, which were the main stated reason for United States President George W. Bush ordering the invasion of Iraq to remove Saddam.

Did you get that? They found that he had programs to develop wmd, but no stockpiles of weapons. Come on, people! If he actually had stockpiles of nukes or chemical weapons, then that would be a good reason NOT to invade! Why wait until they have the weapons, if you know they're trying to develop them? This is why Americans think Democrats are weak on national security! And damn it, Bush never said that there were huge stockpiles of these weapons. He just said that Saddam had failed to account for his wmd. Which could mean anything. It could mean that he failed to account for his programs. Intellectual capital means a lot in the world of technology. Just check out the story of Francis Cabot Lowell, if you disagree. He was the man who committed the famous act of industrial espionage responsible for ending England's monopoly on the textile industry. And he didn't do it by stealing one of their mills. He did it by touring their facilities, and learning how the mills work. In essence, he stole the technology. Destroying the weapons facilities, and indeed the weapons themselves, would be meaningless if you leave the technological ability to develop them, whether it's the blueprints for the devices, or the nuclear scientists with the knowledge of how they work.
Basically, the conclusion I draw is that Saddam wanted these weapons, and nothing could stop him from getting them. The inspections would only have delayed him. Why contain a problem, when you can eliminate it?

And as promised, here is the list of alternate sources:

Fair Trade or Free Trade?

I'd like to get a debate started about the issues of fair trade and free trade. I'm not sure which way I stand on this issue, because I've seen some pretty logical arguments on both sides. Anybody interested?

The White Man's Burden by Rudyard Kipling

The White Man's Burden

Take up the White man's burden --
Send forth the best ye breed --
Go bind your sons to exile
To serve your captives' need;
To wait in heavy harness
On fluttered folk and wild --
Your new-caught, sullen peoples,
Half devil and half child.

Take up the White Man's burden --
In patience to abide,
To veil the threat of terror
And check the show of pride;
By open speech and simple,
An hundred times mad plain.
To seek another's profit,
And work another's gain.

Take up the White Man's burden --
The savage wars of peace --
Fill full the mouth of Famine
And bid the sickness cease;
And when your goal is nearest
The end for others sought,
Watch Sloth and heathen Folly
Bring all your hope to nought.

Take up the White Man's burden --
No tawdry rule of kings,
But toil of serf and sweeper --
The tale of common things.
The ports ye shall not enter,
The roads ye shall not tread,
Go make them with your living,
And mark them with your dead!

Take up the White man's burden --
And reap his old reward:
The blame of those ye better,
The hate of those ye guard --
The cry of hosts ye humour
(Ah, slowly!) toward the light: --
"Why brought ye us from bondage,
"Our loved Egyptian night?"

Take up the White Man's burden --
Ye dare not stoop to less --
Nor call too loud on freedom
To cloak your weariness;
By all ye cry or whisper,
By all ye leave or do,
The silent, sullen peoples
Shall weigh your Gods and you.

Take up the White Man's burden --
Have done with childish days --
The lightly proffered laurel,
The easy, ungrudged praise.
Comes now, to search your manhood
Through all the thankless years,
Cold-edged with dear-bought wisdom,
The judgment of your peers!

I'm in a poetic mood

Rudyard Kipling should be required reading these days.

THE YOUNG BRITISH SOLDIER

When the 'arf-made recruity goes out to the East
'E acts like a babe an' 'e drinks like a beast,
An' 'e wonders because 'e is frequent deceased
Ere 'e's fit for to serve as a soldier.
Serve, serve, serve as a soldier,
Serve, serve, serve as a soldier,
Serve, serve, serve as a soldier,
So-oldier ~OF~ the Queen!

Now all you recruities what's drafted to-day,
You shut up your rag-box an' 'ark to my lay,
An' I'll sing you a soldier as far as I may:
A soldier what's fit for a soldier.
Fit, fit, fit for a soldier . . .

First mind you steer clear o' the grog-sellers' huts,
For they sell you Fixed Bay'nets that rots out your guts --
Ay, drink that 'ud eat the live steel from your butts --
An' it's bad for the young British soldier.
Bad, bad, bad for the soldier . . .

When the cholera comes -- as it will past a doubt --
Keep out of the wet and don't go on the shout,
For the sickness gets in as the liquor dies out,
An' it crumples the young British soldier.
Crum-, crum-, crumples the soldier . . .

But the worst o' your foes is the sun over'ead:
You ~must~ wear your 'elmet for all that is said:
If 'e finds you uncovered 'e'll knock you down dead,
An' you'll die like a fool of a soldier.
Fool, fool, fool of a soldier . . .

If you're cast for fatigue by a sergeant unkind,
Don't grouse like a woman nor crack on nor blind;
Be handy and civil, and then you will find
That it's beer for the young British soldier.
Beer, beer, beer for the soldier . . .

Now, if you must marry, take care she is old --
A troop-sergeant's widow's the nicest I'm told,
For beauty won't help if your rations is cold,
Nor love ain't enough for a soldier.
'Nough, 'nough, 'nough for a soldier . . .

If the wife should go wrong with a comrade, be loath
To shoot when you catch 'em -- you'll swing, on my oath! --
Make 'im take 'er and keep 'er: that's Hell for them both,
An' you're shut o' the curse of a soldier.
Curse, curse, curse of a soldier . . .

When first under fire an' you're wishful to duck,
Don't look nor take 'eed at the man that is struck,
Be thankful you're livin', and trust to your luck
And march to your front like a soldier.
Front, front, front like a soldier . . .

When 'arf of your bullets fly wide in the ditch,
Don't call your Martini a cross-eyed old bitch;
She's human as you are -- you treat her as sich,
An' she'll fight for the young British soldier.
Fight, fight, fight for the soldier . . .

When shakin' their bustles like ladies so fine,
The guns o' the enemy wheel into line,
Shoot low at the limbers an' don't mind the shine,
For noise never startles the soldier.
Start-, start-, startles the soldier . . .

If your officer's dead and the sergeants look white,
Remember it's ruin to run from a fight:
So take open order, lie down, and sit tight,
And wait for supports like a soldier.
Wait, wait, wait like a soldier . . .

When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
An' go to your Gawd like a soldier.
Go, go, go like a soldier,
Go, go, go like a soldier,
Go, go, go like a soldier,
So-oldier ~of~ the Queen!

Left Wing Monster #2

Here's an educational post for you young 'uns who don't remember Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. It's an article from discoverthenetwork.org, David Horowitz's much vilified attempt at understanding the network behind the left. This one is number two in the Left Wing Monster series. It's a story that is so extreme, in a sick way, it borders on comical. This one goes out to all you teenage hippie types passing out International A.N.S.W.E.R. literature. Your ignorance could someday destroy you.

De-mystifiying the Left

I read this excellent article by Barry Loberfeld at frontpagemag.com. Truly a scholarly, and at times humorous critique of the left. It basically says everthing I've been screaming for years about leftists, only in a way far more articulate and scholarly than I could ever manage. They don't believe in freedom or equality. They sneer at the concept of freedom, and believe in hedgemony. How dare these unwashed masses determine the course of their own lives? How dare they not take the advice of their betters? If they won't listen to us, we'll take away their property and their rights and force them to listen! What the left actually seeks is their position on top! Under capitalism, Noam Chomsky is just another member of the peanut gallery. He has no control over me and my property, and thus I am left to my own evil devices, like the rest of the evil masses. Under communism, old Noam will get just what he wants, a position amongst the party elite, and the power to control us unenlightened heathens.

Screw Yahoo!

I've decided I'm going to stop using Yahoo as a source for news. I'm convinced that they intentionally change the url's of their news stories to confound bloggers. None of my hyperlinks to yahoo news stories work any more. I don't see why they shouldn't welcome the traffic I direct to their sites, but screw 'em. There are plenty of other fish in the sea. When I do see something in yahoo news that interests me, I'll do my best to find an alternative source to cite. Ya hear that, Yahoo? I say screw you blue, and your auntie too!

America Needs Another Patton

I've seen this quote circulating in conservative sectors of the blogosphere all week. It comes from Patton's famous speech to the 3rd army on the eve of D-Day.

We’re not going to just shoot the sons-of-bitches, we’re going to rip out their living Goddamned guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We’re going to murder those lousy Hun cocksuckers by the bushel-fucking-basket. War is a bloody, killing business. You’ve got to spill their blood, or they will spill yours. Rip them up the belly. Shoot them in the guts. When shells are hitting all around you and you wipe the dirt off your face and realize that instead of dirt it’s the blood and guts of what once was your best friend beside you, you’ll know what to do!

You can read the whole speech here.

Absolute War

Here's an excellent poem by George Patton. I'd say it kind of applies to the present.

Absolute War
Now in war we are confronted with conditions which are strange.
If we accept them we will never win.
Since by being realistic, as in mundane combats fistic,
We will get a bloody nose and that's a sin.
To avoid such fell disaster, the result of fighting faster,
We resort to fighting carefully and slow.
We fill up terrestrial spaces with secure expensive bases
To keep our tax rate high and death rate low.
But with sadness and with sorrow we discover to our horror
That while we build, the enemy gets set.
So despite our fine intentions to produce extensive pensions
We haven't licked the dirty bastard yet.
For in war just as in loving, you must always keep on shoving
Or you'll never get your just reward.
For if you are dilatory in the search for lust and glory
You are up shit creek and that's the truth, Oh! Lord.
So let us do real fighting, boring in and gouging, biting.
Let's take a chance now that we have the ball.
Let's forget those fine firm bases in the dreary shell raked spaces.
Let's shoot the works and win! Yes, win it all!

Chauncy Biggins Goes Under Cover

After having such fun arguing with idiots in the yahoo message boards, Chauncy Biggins decided to take a cue from Communists for Kerry and pose as a communist, with hilarious results!
The following is an exerpt from a yahoo message board pertaining to the starvation of the people of North Korea, which is of course, America's fault. You can read the news story here. And please read the news story first. It really puts the madness of the left in perspective when you read their posts.

Yes, comrade! Capitalism is a failure! All the capitalists ever do is prop up sagging communist economies that can't support themselves! But we communists must be careful to distinguish between the rhetoric we feed the useful idiots and brainwashed masses and the truth: we need these capitalist fatcats in order for communism to survive. How else will we fund our military AND provide for the common welfare, like those evil capitalists do. After all, we can't afford to do it: we're communists! That's why we don't even try! Kim Jong Il threatens to blow the US up, and in turn, they feed a quarter of his population. Now that's what I call chutzpa! The only question is, when the whole world turns to communism, as it should, where will we find capitalists to support us? We'll have to find capitalists on other planets to support us. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Capitalism is indeed FAR from perfect. But it is light years ahead of Communism. In capitalism, some people are poor, but if you work hard you can get ahead of where you were. In communism EVERYONE is poor, and no ammount of hard work will ever pay off, even a little bit. Don't be so fucking stupid in the future.

In Communism everyone is poor, but some (regular people) are more poor than others (communist leaders). If you limit the inflow of information into the country, people will perceive their life as normal and will not complain. So communist leaders will be able to maintain a nice feeling of power and superiority.

No, comrade. Don't believe the capitalist lies! I know, it's all that food the fatcats let you eat! It clouds your judgement! Every communist party member knows that the proletarians enjoy long hours of back-breaking labor much more than they enjoy food! Communism is much better than capitalism. All that prosperity is bad for the complection. And all that disposable income makes people worried and frustrated because they don't know what to do with it! So many consumer choices! It can make life very complicated. When your only choice is to wait in line at the local ration station for your share of rice and beans, it can be very liberating. Never again will you have to worry about what to do with all that money! You'll be too focused on scrounging for food in the gutter, like any good communist should!

Back in the Saddle

Jane Fonda, aka Hanoi Jane, America's favorite treasonous whore-dog, has apparently decided to take up "the cause" once again and oppose our efforts in the middle of a war. I suppose she'll be wanting more photo-ops. Perhaps we can encourage her to go on a "fact-finding mission" in Iraq, which would most likely end with her being beheaded. Just a thought.

Chauncy Hands yet another Troll his proverbial Ass

This time the news story was about the upcoming deadline for an Iraqi constitution. Read the story here. On a side note, I'd like to say that I love how these liberals stake their whole credibility on hopes of failure. They all poo-pooed the elections, betting they would fail. But they didn't. Now they're praying for the Iraqis to fail in drafting a constitution. That really wins over the voters!

Yes, Saddam was an equal-opportunity murderer. I love this defeatism. Whatever happened to the left wanting to just "do something!" You thought Bill Clinton was such a hero for getting Ariel Sharon and Yasser Arafat to meet for lunch, even though there was no peace agreement. Shit, they got a nobel prize. We've got an ousted dictator, a new iraqi provisional government, free elections, and they're on their way to adopting a constitution. And now all you idiot libs are in the tenuous position of casting that as a negative. It would be funny if it weren't so tragic!

Well, actually, more troops have died at home in car accidents than in the field. Those suicide bombers and so-called insurgents mostly target Iraqi civillians and security forces. That insurgency you're rooting for is intentionally targeting civillians. So that puts you in an interesting position. You're actually against the Iraqi people and their newly-elected government, but in favor of the Ba'athist Sunnis and radical Wahabbi muslims from Iran. How does it feel to lend comfort to murderers and terrorists?

We're rooting to bring decency, honor, and honesty back to the government. And if we hadn't gone in there in the first place, there'd be no insurgency for anyone to root for. There were no WMDs. You're ignoring recent history. In Tawaitha, Saddam had 1.8 tons of enriched uranium. He was still funding the IAEC until we invaded in 2003. Just because he didn't have stockpiles of nukes doesn't mean he wasn't trying. Besides, he was also in violation of un resolutions and our ceasefire agreement. Weeks into the conflict, we found a stash of russian migs that violated UN resolutions. The only reason those resolutions were in place was to protect the kurds and shiites from genocide! Sure, he wasn't the biggest threat to us? But since when are you libs non-interventionist isolationists? Saddam had to go, and military action was the only way to do it! You also ignore the fact that the Iraqi government doesn't want us to leave yet, doesn't even want us to announce a date. Because the decent people of Iraq need us to stay until they're secure enough to go it alone. What you want is for us to leave now, allow the Ba'athists to take over, and kill hundreds of thousands of people, like the last Gulf War or like Vietnam and Cambodia. Then you liberals could chalk this up as another American failure and use it in your propaganda to win elections.

And you can't tell me this garbage you people spew doesn't embolden our enemies and weaken our troops' morale. You can't pull this crap where you claim to support the troops when you shit on their mission and hope they fail. If that's what you think is support, then I'm sure they don't need it.

Oh, bullshit. You've probably said that line to a hundred other people this week! Are you denying that he was in violation of our ceasefire agreement? Are you denying that Saddam Hussein was funding a nuclear weapons program that enriched 1.8 tons of enriched uranium? Isn't that at the very heart of the discussion, since you seem to think there was no justification for war? What about the horrible human rights abuses? Why doesn't that count? We invaded the Serbs, our NATO allies with less justification. Where was the massive outcry of criticism from the anti-war left then? You want us to believe that Saddam was this benign, huggable teddy bear and we're just these evil villains, invading a completely innocent country. But that's bullshit, and most people know it, including you. You're the one who changes the subject and turns to ad-hominem attack because you can't respond to my arguments.

No, you think instead of parroting the same bullshit I hear from the talking heads in the media and your favorite hollywood movie stars. You want to invade 20 countries at once? We've already got a full plate with Iraq and Afghanistan. Shit, man, we were already engaged in Iraq. In case you weren't aware, our pilots have been risking their lives enforcing the no-fly-zone ever since the end of the first gulf war. Saddam kept moving anti-aircraft guns into the de-militarized zones, in violation of our ceasefire. So techinically, we've been in a state of war anyway. Which is better? Sending ground troops and overthrowing the problem, or authorizing pointless bombing campaigns against empty targets like Clinton? Perhaps now, someday we might actually pull out of Iraq. Isn't it better to solve a problem than to endlessly maintain it? Isn't it better to call the plumber than to put a bucket under the leaky pipe?

You're rationale for not stopping the human rights abuses in Iraq is that all the other countries are doing it? That's pretty pathetic, don't you think? So either you want us to solve all the world's problems, all at once, or we can't solve any of them at all. Is that what you're saying?
And just what would you say if the administration said they planned to invade india, pakistan, and north korea? Would you be behind it then? Or are non-sequiturs all you're capable of?
Perhaps you have the forensic "tools" to convince me you're right, but you're certainly not demonstrating it right now. And calling me a Rove-ite won't do it either. It neither hurts my feelings, nor does it sway my opinion. You're going to have to do better than that.

PETA Kills Helpless Animals

I was alerted to this story by a frontpage mag article here. I wasn't entirely surprised. Apparently, since PETA spends so much of it's budget on advertising and harassment campaigns against farmers and medical research facilities, it doesn't have enough money left over to care for animals. So a lot of these animals that PETA "rescues" end up getting euthanized and dumped. I've always suspected that PETA hurts more animals than it helps. If you've ever seen their literature, where they document the atrocious mutilations of animals supposedly done by hunters, then you know what I'm talking about. I was at a job fair at Ball State University where PETA had their own stall, passing out materials. They showed me this pamphlet of a fox that had been utterly mutilated. It looked like it had been mangled by farm equipment. The pelt was ruined. "What hunter would do this," I asked. It appeared to me that these PETA people most likely killed and butchered this fox specifically for the purposes of their propaganda, which I think is illegal. I always used to think PETA was insane because they care more about animals than people. Now, I'm beginning to think they're just plain insane.

Cult of 7G Salutes the Noble Pig

Here at the Cult of 7G, we don't understand all the fuss over such an adorable, intelligent, and tasty animal. Apparently, certain groups of people find them filthy and actually have a religious objection to eating their delicious flesh. Well I'm here to say that pigs are no filthier than chickens or cows. Both cows and chickens live, eat, and propagate in their own excrement. But when a pig does it, all of a sudden it's filthy! I say it's high time to elevate the noble pig to the status it deserves! It should be revered as a helpful fellow traveller on this earth, that delights us with its curly little tail, its personality, and its flavor! Long live the majestic, domestic swine!

After Iraq attacks, calls for militias grow

This is what I like to hear! Iraqis want to stand up and fight for themselves! If the state can't protect me, then I'll protect me! You hear that, Sarah Brady? You hear that, Chuck Schumer? Sometimes, the state can't protect you. There are universal truths in this world, completely separate from politics, and laws, and any other artificial concept. These are the laws of nature. Each individual has the right, and responsibility to defend their own person. You could attempt to write it away with laws all you like, but when the blows are raining down on your head, you'll act out of self-preservation, the most powerful of human instincts. When the state can't adequately meet your protection needs, whether you live in Miami, Florida or war-torn Baghdad, you have a responsibility to meet it yourself. And this truth apparently isn't lost on the people of Iraq. It's too bad some people in this country just don't get it. I'd like to take Chuck Schumer and drop him off in a gang neighborhood in south central LA. The average police response time there is 45 minutes, if they arrive at all. Maybe then he'd understand.
Security can't be established from the top down. It must be from the bottom up. The people of Iraq are closer to the insurgents than the US or Iraqi governments. They're also closer to their own homes and neighborhoods. Perhaps citizen militias will be the answer we've been looking for.

No WMD, eh?

Here's a story from Newsmax you won't here about in the mainstream press. Because it was already in the mainstream press back in May 2004. The following is an exerpt.

"The United States has informed an international agency that oversees nuclear materials that it intends to move hundreds of tons of uranium from a sealed repository south of Baghdad to a more secure place outside Iraq," the paper announced in a little-noticed May 2004 report.
"The repository, at Tuwaitha, a centerpiece of Saddam Hussein's nuclear weapons program until it was largely shut down after the first Persian Gulf war in 1991, holds more than 500 tons of uranium," the paper revealed, before insisting: "None of it [is] enriched enough to be used directly in a nuclear weapon."
Well, almost none.
The Times went on to report that amidst Saddam's yellowcake stockpile, U.S. weapons inspectors found "some 1.8 tons" that they "classified as low-enriched uranium."
The paper conceded that while Saddam's nearly 2 tons of partially enriched uranium was "a more potent form" of the nuclear fuel, it was "still not sufficient for a weapon."
Consulted about the low-enriched uranium discovery, however, Ivan Oelrich, a physicist at the Federation of American Scientists, told the Associated Press that if it was of the 3 percent to 5 percent level of enrichment common in fuel for commercial power reactors, the 1.8 tons could be used to produce enough highly enriched uranium to make a single nuclear bomb.

The shit gets deeper. Read the whole story here.

Cult of 7G Interview Exclusive!

You may have read in newsmax that Ted Kennedy is planning a trip to Guantanamo Bay to "probe" allegations of lingerie-related abuse. Chauncy Biggins of the Cult of 7G has gotten the Massachussetts senator to agree to an interview.

Biggins: Tell us about your reasons for going to Gitmo.

Kennedy: Well, er um, when I heard of lingerie being abused, I knew that I had to go down and investigate.

Biggins: Actually, the allegations are that prison guards used lingerie in their interrogations of prisoners.

Kennedy: Even worse! The very thought of sexy female GI's cavorting around in lingerie in front of large groups of howling, cat-calling inmates, er um, turns my stomach. These women require my immediate investigation!

Biggins: Well, according to the news reports, and eye-witness testimony, the prison guards were actually forcing the male inmates to wear the lingerie, like putting thongs on their heads.

Kennedy: On the guys? Hmmmm. That's kind of queah.

Biggins: They come from a very morally conservative islamic background, and this treatment is very effective in interrogation.

Kennedy: Well, I personally have had a thong on my head several times, and I er um, know how tragic it can be. Especially if you don't have any ones. I just have one question.

Biggins: Yes?

Kennedy: Will there be booze?

I found a great article on frontpagemag.com from my favorite anti-commie Cubano, Humberto Fontova. Entitled, "Monster," it is a brief history of Fidel Castro, and a veritable laundry list of atrocities.

Top Hussein Lawyer Quits, Chides U.S.

So Saddam's head lawyer has decided to call it quits. Ziad al-Khasawneh was resigned because he was ticked off that certain American members of Saddam's defense team (did you get that?) were trying to get him to tone down his criticism of America and the Iraqi government. I guess they felt it didn't help their case. Wooptie friggin' doo! I don't see much of a chance for Saddam to get off. The thing that got me about this story was the size of this guy's legal team. Here's an exerpt from the AP story.

Saddam's legal team includes 1,500 volunteers and at least 22 lead lawyers who come from several countries, including the United States, France, Jordan, Iraq and Libya.

Can you believe it? That's certainly more than the legal teams of O.J. and Jacko combined! Who are all these Americans defending him? And who's paying for this army of lawyers? Is Saddam paying for it with money he stole from Iraq? Or are we paying for it?

Four London Blasts Kill 40, Injure 350

I've been in a partial blogging hiatus for a while. I've been focused on other things. But I had to come back for this. This story is all over the place, so I'm not really contributing anything as far as news. But I wanted to say that I remember the compassion that the English showed after September 11th, and the Cult of 7G would like to extend its deepest sympathies.

Foes: Bush Speech Reinforces Iraq Fears

Once again, it puzzles me how these people get jobs in the news. First of all, again we have the problem of the headline hardly summing up the story. Only two people in this story had anything bad to say about Bush's speech, and one of them was a porter, which by definition a person stationed at a door or gate to admit or assist those entering. Is this really who they were referring to? They couldn't find anyone else to talk to, so they talked to the doorman. Nice. Hope they're proud of their degree in journalism. Or could that be general communication?

These are the kinds of people who wish they had their own editorials, and they're angry because they can't MAKE the news. Well, I have to give them credit. They make it as well as they can.

How is this news?

This yahoo story entitled, "Ku Klux Klan: racist group casts long shadow over US history", does not include anything new. So how is it news? Why do they "report" on this now? Not enough negative press about the US in today's news so we need to drag up old stuff? Is this some sort of "two-minutes-hate" for all the liberal yahoos of Yahoo?

ACLU Says Bush Is Restricting Science

Just what purpose is the ACLU intended to serve? I found this story on Yahoo to be very illuminating. Now the ACLU, or American Commie Liberals Union, is charging that the Bush Administration is suppressing science.

The administration "has sought to impose growing restrictions on the free flow of scientific information, unreasonable barriers on the use of scientific materials and increased monitoring of and restrictions on foreign university students," the ACLU said.

Apparently, the ACLU doesn't understand why we should be concerned with foreigners getting access to classified materials. It's not like we're in a war with terrorists or anything! Now here's the part where they really show their true colors:

And the ACLU charged the administration with trying to suppress information on such topics as global warming, mercury emissions and emergency contraception.

Is the ACLU here to defend civil liberties, or are they just another mouthpiece of the Democratic Party?

Al-Qaida Announces Iraqi Suicide Squad

The eternally image-conscious Al-Qaeda has announced the formation of an all-Iraqi suicide squad. According to this AP story, it was to deflect criticism that most suicide bombers are foreigners. Apparently, they think they'll meet Allah if they give their lives to kill their own people. It would be poetic justice if they did get to go to heaven, but in tiny little pieces. I can't help but be reminded of the Judean People's Front crack suicide squad in The Life of Brian.

"We are the Judean People's Front crack suicide squad. Attack, Attack, Attack!"

"That showed 'em, huh?"

Groups Unite Against Military Recruiters

A bunch of liberal parents at a school in Philadelphia are pissed off because their school gave their contact information to military recruiters. They think the military unfairly targets minority communities in what some consider a "defacto draft." Frankly, I find the whole idea rather absurd. They always bitch about how the military always sends the poor and the minorities. Well tell me something. If the military set up recruitment offices in Beverly Hills, do you think they'd get very many recruits? The military is going to target the demographics that yield the most recruits. They're going to go where they can get people to sign up. It's simple marketing, and recruiters don't care what color you are, or what your social status is. All they care about is getting you to sign. And why do these parents object to their children being presented with the option of military recruitment? They don't want them to hear from people with views that disagree with them? Are they trying to limit the military recruiters' freedom of speech?

Some Perspective

I get so sick of hearing about Koran desecrations. What the hell is a Koran desecration? We're talking about a book! Apparently, people now consider flushing a book down a toilet to be torture. How the hell are we supposed to interrogate prisoners? We certainly can't use real torture like the taliban in Afghanistan or Saddam's brutal regime in Iraq. So what are we supposed to do if offending the prisoners' sensibilities is now to be considered torture? Beat them with fluffy pillows like Monty Python's version of the Spanish Inquisition? This is a war, and these people are the enemy. They need to be detained and the very fact that we're giving these people korans in the first place is a demonstration of our leniency, and our generosity. And the outrage in the arab world and in the American media is pretty ridiculous when you consider the desecrations committed by the supposed victims. What about the ancient buddha statues the taliban destroyed in 2001? Does that not count as a desecration? Or how about the desecration of jewish holy sites committed by palestinians? This whole thing is just another tactic to enrage the arab street and strengthen the resolve of our enemies.

Many Scientists Admit to Misconduct

Here's an interesting story from the washington post. According to an anonymous survey taken by 3,247 scientists, 5% admitted to throwing out data that didn't agree with their intended result. 15% admitted to changing their results to satisfy their sponsors. 13.5% used research designs that they knew would not give accurate results. This certainly makes one wonder about the veracity of the global warning threat.

Dean Defends Criticism of Republican Party

Now this just cracks me up. Of course he's going to defend his comments. Of course he's going to criticize the GOP. He's the DNC Chairman! Oh, and this is what really gets me

"This is a diversion from the issues that really matter:
Social Security, and adequate job opportunity, strong public schools, a strong defense," Dean said
."

It's funny how he's not being criticized for talking about social security, job opportunity, public schools, and defense. He's being criticized for calling the Republican Party,

"pretty much a white, Christian party."

He's not talking about any issues. He's doing the same thing the Dem's have been doing for the last 6 years. "Republicans are wrong. We are right. What are we right about? The republicans being wrong, of course!"

Think up something new, you dimwits! Maybe if you actually proposed some bills or did something to show what you're actually being paid for, more people might vote for you.

Freedom of Speech

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the company of a barking moonbat liberal. My friend Keith recently got married and most of his friends came from out of town to attend the wedding. One of them, I don't wish to embarrass by naming, so I'll just call him Bob. Anyway, Bob brought his new girlfriend from Wisconsin to the wedding. After the wedding, several of the other guests and I met over at the home of a fellow I call Canadian-Dan(he hates the nick-name but I think it sounds cool). We were hanging out, watching a cheesey action movie, and drinking some beer. Bob's girlfriend began to regale us on all the ins and outs of working in a wisconsin sex shop. She told us story after story, each one rife with depravity and filth. I would include an anecdote, but you really don't want me to. Trust me. After listening to this for a while, the entire group fell kind of silent. Apparently, she felt this was the appropriate time to test the waters for a possible political conversation. "Man, we should start a war against Washington." Normally, that would be my cue to pounce, but I decided to humor her by taking her statement seriously, for Bob's sake. "If we did that," I reasoned, "China would probably see it as their opportunity to invade the west coast and liberate us from capitalism." To which she replied, "At least then, we'd probably have freedom of speech." Her comment struck me dumb. I was speechless. Canadian Dan snorted and said, "Those people don't have any freedom at all." She fell silent, with a sour look on her face as though she'd bitten into an onion. I'm sure she must have thought to herself that this was just another bunch of evil fascist neocons, attempting to obfuscate. Perhaps somebody should tell her about how China has blocked their citizens' access to blogger.com and all blogger weblogs with their national firewall. Or how China is now forcing all of it's nations' webmasters and bloggers to register with the government, so they can be held accountable for "subversion." That's freedom in the communist worker's paradise.

Prison would prove tough if Jackson convicted

Gee, do ya think? And the award for the year's most obvious news headline goes to Reuters for this speculative piece. I know exactly what will happen to Michael Jackson if he goes to prison. They won't put him in the general population, which is what he deserves. If they do, he won't last five minutes. Let's just say he'll have a whole new reason to grab his crotch and scream, "Hoooooooooo!"

Man with a chain saw that was apparently covered with blood was let into the U.S.

Now this really makes me feel safe. According to this AP story, the appearance of being a chainsaw wielding psychopath isn't enough to prevent a border crossing into this country. Gregory Despres was covered in blood. He had a home-made sword, brass knuckles, a knife, a hatchet, and a chainsaw covered in blood. But they let him cross the border into the US anyway. According to Bill Anthony, a spokesman for US Customs and Border Protection, they had to let him in because he was a naturalized citizen and wasn't wanted on for any crimes. "Being bizarre is not a reason to keep somebody out of this country or lock them up. ... We are governed by laws and regulations, and he did not violate any regulations."

The Heterosexual HIV Myth?

"Has the Left’s agenda spawned lies about AIDS that have caused the needless infection and deaths of millions? To discuss this question and other issues related to the politics and science of HIV and AIDS, Frontpage Symposium has assembled a distinguished panel of experts."

I don't really know what to make of this. According to a panel of experts, heterosexuals practicing vaginal intercourse are not at significant risk for HIV. Supposedly, it's almost exclusively transmitted by i.v. drug use and anal intercourse. HIV is transmitted when there isn't significant protection from transmission, like skin or vaginal tissue. Apparently the membranes in the colon allow for large molecules to enter the body, such as nutrients or HIV.
I don't know if it's true or not, but these guys present a pretty compelling argument.

White House, N.Y. Face Off Over 9/11 Funds

If the federal government sends you money to use for a specific purpose, then you'd damn well better use it for that purpose. Anybody who receives federal grants for any reason knows that. But the lawmakers in New York must think they're special. George Bush pledged to send $200 billion in federal aid to help New York recover after 9/11. That included $175 million for the state's worker's compensation program. Of that money, they've only spent about $48.4 million. Then there's the $25 million for out of state workers. They've spent less than a million on those claims. Apparently, their needs were greatly over-estimated. So now the Fed wants the extra money back. But these New York lawmakers want to hang on to the money to pay out claims for respiratory illnesses suffered by the police, firemen, and construction workers. Now I'm sure they have a valid need for that money, but you should ask congress to appropriate more spending for that purpose. They gave you the money to spend for a reason, and that's what you should have spent it on. If you didn't need it all for that purpose, send it back. You can't just hang on to money that's not yours until you work out a deal to keep it. We went through this same crap back in 2000 over the so-called budget surplus. It was actually a projected surplus over 10 years, meaning there never was a surplus, but I'm not here to split hairs. Anyway, rather than give it back in a tax cut, the Democrats wanted to spend it to solve the social security crisis, which according to them today, doesn't exist. But now I'm going off topic. The theme here is that Democrats don't understand how to keep the books. If you go over, you can't just take that money and use it on something else.

Pro Ana

The internet is full of some pretty twisted things, but this takes the freaking cake. There's a growing community of people finding support in an underground movement that promotes anorexia. They call her Ana, and she is the subject of prayers, poetry, and even an anorexic creed. When I read the AP story, I decided to visit some of these sites. Oddly enough, none of them feature pictorials of people who have successfully reached their target weight with Ana's help. I think that's because most of them are dead. These websites strongly discourage any comments criticizing Ana and their chosen lifestyle. Below are some links. I want these webmasters inundated with mail. It's the most appropriate thing for them, absent a firing squad.

Ana's Underground Grotto

Now these sites are just the tip of the iceberg. Please give them a piece of your mind.

Kerry Finally Signs Form SF-180

According to my records it took him 114 days to do it, but John Kerry has finally signed the form to release his military records. It will take time to process the form, and knowing the military, that could be a while. But now this whole issue is going to be settled, once and for all. Perhaps the Swiftvets' claims will be validated.

Deal with the Devil?

Here's an editorial in Newsmax from Wes Vernon that pretty much sums up all of my worries over the last minute deal over judicial filibusters. Can a leapord really change it's spots? Have the Democrats stuck to their promises in the past? Remember when Bush tried to make a deal with Ted Kennedy and the Democrats to cut down on their criticism by increasing education spending? Did the Democrats stick to that deal? No! So I'm a little skeptical. And considering all the gloating from the Democrats over their victory over Bill Frist and the evil right wing, I'm not that optimistic. Apparently, the Democrats still reserve the right to filibuster any nomination in "extraordinary circumstances," which according to them, means the President should consult them about any new nominations. In other words, he can only nominate who they say he can nominate. Doesn't sound too appealing, but the whole thing does make them look worse, and the Republicans can still try to change the filibuster rules if necessary. But that idea still makes me queasy. What if the Democrats take back the majority? That will be one less weapon in our arsenal!

Lawsuit says school violated free-speech rights

Here's another case of Reuters sticking a serious American political issue in their "Oddly Enough" section. Those krauts at Reuters have no respect for their audience. A Pennsyvania school district violated the free speech rights of a parent who wanted to read from the bible in front of her child's class. She was visiting the class for "Me Week", which gives parents the opportunity to read in class from one of her child's favorite books. She wanted to read Psalm no. 118, but the principle of the school stopped her. He said it was a violation of separation of church and state. Now we at the Cult of 7G are familiar with the Constitution, and nowhere can the phrase "separation of church and state" be found in that document. It does say, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." Ironically, the left uses an amendment intended to protect free speech in order to infringe upon it. These people suggest that just referencing a particular religion, or exposing students to it is an endorsement. Then why is it okay for schools to promote Islam? Either way, it's apples and oranges. This lady was reading from a book in school. This wasn't the school endorsing anything. They gave her a platform to read a book, and she chose the Bible. I could understand them stopping her if her child's favorite book was a Larry Flynt publication, but how is reading her kid's favorite psalm hurting anybody? If it had been the Koran, they probably wouldn't have batted an eyelash.

No Nukes

Here's an excellent post from Pejmanesque. There's a lot of conservative complaining in the blogosphere about the recent deal struck by McCain on Bush's nominations. They seem to favor a war of attrition with the democrats. They see this compromise as a cave-in. I must admit, I would have liked to see the republicans flex their muscles a bit more, but maybe this deal benefits republicans more than they think.

Cuba Libre!

Good news from the Associated Press!

HAVANA - With shouts of "Freedom" and the singing of the Cuban national anthem, more than 200 people on Friday opened a rare opposition assembly in communist Cuba, uninterrupted by authorities despite the expulsion of European lawmakers, journalists and others who planned to attend.

This is the first time anything like this has happened in the entire 46 years that Fidel has been in power. Viva la Revolucion Capitalista! Posted by Hello
