How is this news?

This yahoo story entitled, "Ku Klux Klan: racist group casts long shadow over US history", does not include anything new. So how is it news? Why do they "report" on this now? Not enough negative press about the US in today's news so we need to drag up old stuff? Is this some sort of "two-minutes-hate" for all the liberal yahoos of Yahoo?
